Mrs. Susan Passarella
Hi, I am Mrs. Suzi Passarella and I am a Special Education teacher, teaching Wilson Reading, and offering In-Class Support. I cooperatively work with the regular classroom teachers to target skills students personally need. Sometimes you can find me working with students in their classrooms and other times students come to work in my room.
My teaching career at Deal School began in 2002. For many years, I taught 4-5 Language Arts. After getting my Master's degree in Special Education and certification from the Wilson Reading Program, I have been teaching Wilson Reading and offering In-Class Support. Throughout my years at Deal, I enjoyed supervising many outreach projects, including Color a Smile, Pennies for Puppies, Alex's Lemonade Stand, Monmouth Ocean Food Bank, and donations to Ninos de Cristo Orfonato in the Dominican Republic. Prior to coming to Deal School, I taught pre-school, second, and fourth grades.
I am blessed with a family of six which includes my husband and four children. I am proud to be called Nana Suzi by my five adorable grandchildren. I am also called Miss Suzi by 48 orphan girls from the Ninos de Cristo Orfonato where my husband, Dan, and I volunteer our time and also work during the summer.
I believe learning never ends, no matter how old you are. My hope is that all my students become confident readers and enjoy reading. I love the students and teachers here at Deal School.
If I am not at school, you can find me at the beach, riding my bike, walking the boardwalk, or reading a good book.
