 All About Mrs. Illiano

"If I had my child to raise all over again,

I'd finger paint more, and place the finger less.

I'd do less correcting, and more connecting.

I'd take my eyes off my watch,

      And watch with my eyes.

I would care to know less, and know to care more.

I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.

I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.

I would run through more fields

     and gaze at more stars.

I'd do more hugging, and less tugging,

I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.

I'd teach less about the love of power,

And more about the power of love."

Hello and welcome to my teacher website. My name is Francie Illiano and I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year. I am an alumnus from Monmouth University, class of 1985. While at Monmouth University I received my Bachelor of Science, Certification for Elementary Education with Nursery School Endorsement.

I began teaching at Deal School in 1988. I have had the opportunity to be the Basic Skills, Social Studies, Resource Room, Third grade and currently the Second Grade teacher. In 2013 I developed a Summer School Enrichment Program at Deal School. During the 2012-2013 school year I was nominated "Teacher of the Year."

I grew up in Ocean Township and graduated from Ocean Township High School in 1981. I currently live in West Long Branch with my husband and two wonderful children. My daughter will be graduating from Shore Regional High School in June (2015). She will be attending Monmouth University in September (2015). She would like to follow in my footsteps and major in Elementary Education. My son will be graduating 8th grade from Frank Antonides School in June (2015). He will be attending Shore Regional High School.

When I am not teaching or taking care of my family, I enjoy spending time at the Allenhurst Beach Club, reading, cooking and watching I Love Lucy.

My mission is to inspire my students in every way that I can. I truly believe that every child can succeed at their OWN PACE!!!

Parent/teacher communication is extremely important. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
